How to Get Past 200 in Slope: Speed, Lines and the Tunnel
Published · 1 min read
A run has three phases
Every Slope run follows the same shape. For the first ten seconds the ball is slow and the slope is wide: this is free distance, and the only way to die is to over-steer. From roughly 40 points the platform splits start arriving at a rate where you must read ahead, and the tunnel sections begin. Past 120 the game is a reflex test — you no longer have time to look at the platform you are on.
Phase one: do less
New players lose early runs to their own hands. The ball carries sideways momentum, so a held arrow key drifts you off the edge on a slope that would have been survivable with no input at all. Rest your fingers, tap only when a gap or a red block is directly in your line, and let the slope do the work.
Phase two: read two ahead
Once splits start, commit to a side as soon as the next platform is visible, not when you reach it. The tunnel sections are the exception: inside them the walls do the steering, so centre the ball and stop tapping until you exit.
Phase three: audio and centre
Past 120 points the visual field is a blur; the sound of the ball tells you how fast you are going and when a bounce lands. Stay centred on straights so either fork is reachable, and accept that a run at this speed ends in seconds — the goal is to add ten points to the best, not to survive forever.
